Policies & FAQ

Mutual Cancellation Policy

Your time and commitment to therapy are just as valuable as mine, and I respect the importance of scheduling for the both of us. My policy is that any session cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled appointment. Life can present unexpected challenges, so exceptions will be made for illness or emergencies. In the event that I need to cancel a session, your next session's fee will be waived. Similar to the above policy, exceptions apply for illness or emergencies. Your full fee will be charged for missed appointments and cancellations with less than 24 hours notice.

For weekly sessions, you have the flexibility to reschedule a session within the same week, subject to availability. For bi-weekly sessions, rescheduling can be accommodated within the same or following week to avoid penalty.

No Crisis Services

Due to being a one-person practice, I cannot see clients who are actively suicidal or homicidal, or who are seeking treatment for active eating disorders or substance addiction. These concerns require a more intensive and consistent level of care that I am unable to offer in weekly teletherapy sessions.

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or emergency where your safety is in danger, do not contact me or wait for a scheduled session to seek support. If you do not feel safe calling 911 or 211, you can find alternatives to 911 here.

Frequency and Length of Treatment

When beginning our journey together, I ask that you be prepared to commit to weekly or every other week sessions for a minimum of 8 weeks. How often and how long you are in therapy depends on many factors, and we will discuss what your goals and expectations for treatment are together.

Insurance

I do not currently accept or bill insurance. If at any point this changes, current and potential clients will be notified directly. I am able to provide a monthly superbill at your request, which you may be submit to insurance to request reimbursement if you receive out-of-network (OON) benefits. It is your responsibility to verify your insurance benefits and submit any claims.

If you are wondering why many therapists do not accept insurance or what influences private pay therapy fees, you can read more from Liberation Healing Seattle’s post Why I Don’t Accept Insurance (As A Therapist)..

Good Faith Estimate

As of January 1, 2022, the No Surprises Act requires all health care practitioners to provide clients who don’t have or who are not using insurance a “Good Faith Estimate” on the cost of treatment. This federal law is to provide transparency to clients regarding their expected medical expenses and to protect them from surprise costs in medical bills. The following estimates are based on my full rate of $130 per 50 minute individual session. As a client or potential client, you may request an estimate with your agreed upon fee at any time.

If you’re seeking weekly therapy with me, you can expect to pay $520 per month.

If you’re seeking bi-weekly therapy, you can expect to pay $260 per month. .
